“Building on Success for our Veterans”
Post 56 was initially chartered in Oct of 1920. The post has a long history of successfully serving veterans and the community of York, Me. We staunchly support the four pillars of the American Legion which are:
a. Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation
b. National Security
d. Children and Youth
The post faces great challenges and with a steady determination has developed the ability to adapt and overcome. It is with this same resolve – the post faces the challenges of our future.
The post exhibits its commitment to family by hosting the American Legion Auxiliary and a Squadron of the Sons of the American Legion.
I commit to you that Post 56 is a place where veterans and guests are appreciated, veterans issues are supported, and veterans can continue serving their country by serving their community.
Post membership meetings are held at 1900 hours on the first Monday of each month except when that day is a holiday. In that instance the meeting moves to the following Monday.
As commander of Post 56; I welcome you to join us building on success for our veterans. See you at the Post.
For God and Country:
Donald G. Hands
