Some updates of events for this month:
HELP! If anyone is aware of a post member or veteran who passes away or who has recently died...
Please notify us (Commander or Steve LaPoint) so that we can pay proper tribute by attendin the service or send a card.

The 2010 Motorcycle raffle is in full swing!...Almost all of the tickets have been sold! If you wamt one come to the post ASAP!!

Fundraising projects ongoing are:
Engraved Bricks on the "Bardsley Walk of Honor" located in the commemorative garden by the Gazebo- $100.00 and $150 for the oversized.
Brass Plaques for the Highback Chairs in the lounge (in memory of-or dedicated to) for $100.00
T-shirts with American Legion Emblem-$10.00 or $11.00 for XL and above and Sweat Shirts-$15.00 or $16.00 for XL and above.

If you like music and dancing, remember live bands play almost every Saturday night from 7PM-11PM. Come on down for a good time! Karaoke every other Friday night!

Pancake breakfast every Sunday from 8:00-noon! ...great deal and lots of choices...

Chicken Shoot on Sunday August 23rd- 2 to 4 PM $15.00 admission gets you a fun afternoon (Surf & Turf-Lobster and Steak). Hope to see you there. Don't forget the 50/50 raffle at the shoot!

The Ladies Auxilary "Next Dinner" is Monday the 23rd of August! "Lobsta" roll, "chowda", corn on the cob, deserts -5:00-6:30pm $10.00...don't miss this one! The last one sold out by 5:30!
We will have more avaiable this time...we didn't expect to sell over a hundred in a half hour...

Members are welcomed to any of the committee meetings and are encouraged to voice opinions that may help further the status of the post. Remember if you are a member this is "your" Post. The Next general meeting is September 1st! Check the calendar for other committee meeting dates.
1. PUB-56 Lounge now serves food (see Pub Menu for hours). Come and enjoy a light snack or some really tasty food.. the kitchen is open 4 days a week...we are working on the logistics
and the possibilities of offering pizza, hotdogs and popcorn when the kitchen is closed. Please be patient. We are trying to meet the members requests, while keeping in mind economic realities.
2. The function hall is busy booking events, at least one a day. We already have weddings booked out to Oct. 2010. The function hall is a great place to hold your meetings, parties, training, or any type of gathering. CALL to make an appointment or just see the facility.

Your Legion has initiated a Fundraising Campaign for the next two years that we hope will bring in up to half a millon dollars. This will help to off set the large mortgage and make for easier going.
Some of the Fundraising items will include Memorial Bricks and Benches, Sponsorship of major rooms, Concerts by some major celebrities, American Legion Cook Book and a Direct Mailing.
