Cell Phones for Soldiers is a national organization that is becoming a huge success for our soldiers and their families across America.  This is due to the effort of a couple of young Americans from Norwell, Mass in conjuction with ReCellular as it exclusive recycling organization.

As of July 2010, we the American Legion Post 56 at 9 Hannaford Drive, York, ME 03909 will become an official drop off point for "Cell Phones for Soldiers".  The hours will be Monday thru Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday 12 Noon to 5:00 PM.  Should you need more information, please contact Mel Bates at 207-361-3018.

The purpose of this program is to collect old no longer used cell phones for recycling and turn them into phone cards for our troops both here and overseas.  We believe that the men and women who serve our country should be able to contact their families whenever they have the opportunity.  With these phone cards, they will be able to do this.
